Cross Border
Civil law issues with a sense of proportionIn addition to project-related services, I have also advised many clients in my career to date on other legal issues, in particular civil law, in various industries. In doing so, I like to cross borders.

Know the borders - cross them
I had the honour of working for one of the largest law firms in the world for many years. I have given lectures on German and European law to English insolvency administrators and in the USA to selected participants from the private equity sector, lenders and insolvency administrators. I have also lectured at the University of Dar es Salaam in the Faculty of Law. The daily business was to advise on international transactions, most of which crossed several borders. Always with international colleagues.
During these years, I have come to understand the legal and cultural differences and requirements of the various jurisdictions. It's not just about translating a language, but about being able to explain the differences between the jurisdictions to the client. A client needs a translation in terms of content, not just language. This experience puts me in a position to find the best solutions in cross-border mandates - with my national and international network.
This network has already mastered many difficult situations together in a spirit of trust. Everyone understands that the client comes first and that we want success and not just advise.
Of course, this network does not have to be utilised if experienced consultants are already working for the client. Working together with them and exchanging ideas is always an advantage. They are familiar with the contracts, the contractual partners and the circumstances. You should not and do not want to do without this expertise.
